Our Mission

Our mission is to serve Christ by offering a positive alternative in response to an unplanned pregnancy and to assist birth parents in making the most loving decision for their child. Inheritance believes:

  • Adoption is not giving away your child, but is about giving your child the very best.
  • Adoption is child-centered and is a positive parenting choice.
  • Loving your child does not always mean raising them.

Why Choose us

Inheritance Adoptions is a Christian-based child-placing agency and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Inheritance has been operating as a ministry to pregnant women in crisis since 1993.  We understand the stress and confusion that an unplanned pregnancy can cause and we are here to help you sort through your options.  We have seen the blessings that can come from these situations and can offer hope and healing.

Our services to birth parents are free and include counseling, information on having a healthy pregnancy, and transportation to doctor’s appointments.

We also provide shelter, food and clothing when necessary.

Birth mothers (and fathers when present) can choose the family who will raise the child.

We place children in open adoptions where the birth family can have visits, pictures, and letters throughout the child’s life.

Adoption gives the child life and opportunities that every child deserves to succeed in life.

Adoption gives the child a two parent, stable, loving home to meet the needs of every child.

Since Inheritance is a small agency every client has a one to one relationship with trained staff who there for you in this difficult time.

After placement, we offer services to women who want to improve their life situation.

Inheritance Adoptions believes in making adoption available to anyone with a desire to parent a child in need. Our placement fee is one of the lowest in the industry and is based on the tax benefits available. The cost is outlined in the fee schedule. We also have a Special Needs Assistance Program for those couples willing to adopt harder to place children.

Our Staff

Inheritance Adoptions is very blessed to have such a caring, devoted, and experienced staff.  Each staff member brings their unique experience and personality traits which combine to make a great team.

Are you or anyone you know interested in open adoption? If so, meet Robert and Lisa!

"Aloha. We are Robert and Lisa Burnett. In September, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. Robert has worked for John Deere, 19 years now and is currently a territory manager. Lisa had a career with John Deere for over 15 years and is waiting to become a stay at home mom. She volunteers at the church where she loves to care for the babies. We live in a great, family-oriented neighborhood and have awesome neighbors. We enjoy visiting family and friends at the grandparent’s Texas ranch, campfires, swimming, growing pumpkins, and watching our friend’s children play sports, but spending time with them is what we enjoy the most. We enjoy visiting family in Ohio and Pennsylvania and lots of friends in Iowa and Illinois where we lived for a time. We have been blessed with two children, Cooper and Samantha, but God welcomed them into his arms before we could bring them home. While we keep them in our hearts, losing them has strengthened our love and deepened our faith. We feel that God has shown us adopting is the path for us as He adopted us into His family.

Ephesians 1:4, 5 …”In love (5) he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-“"

Birthmom

We first came to Inheritance in September of 1997. We were heartbroken and desperate for a baby. We started the adoption process, not knowing how long or if we would ever get a baby. We had a failed adoption (not with Inheritance) in November of that year.

I just have to share my awesomeness. I am a birth mother. I placed my son in June of 2009, it was the hardest, best thing I have ever done. When I began this long process I was flipping burgers at Carls Jr. After that, the agency helped me with lots of things, the most important was my education. I
